In an age when more and more known faces are getting slapped with cultural appropriation accusations, Miley Cyrus proved to be a true global citizen by celebrating Diwali, an Indian festival.
On 30th October the entire Indian subcontinent celebrated the Festival of Lights, by lighting candles and diyas around their houses, drawing a rangoli design in their homes, and wearing new traditional clothes. In the evening, Lord Ganesha and Goddess Lakshmi are offered prayers.
Cyrus instagrammed the below photo.
The photo garnered positive response from all over the world, and her Indian fans were too happy to see one of the most known celebrities celebrating Diwali. After all the love she received, she posted another photo.
It is wonderful to see a world-known personality treating everyone and every culture equally, and inspiring her fans to do the same.
