Why The Kala Chashma Song Is Disappointing

After a lot of hype and promotions, the Kala Chashma song was finally released on 27th July. The song is from the upcoming Katrina Kaif-Sidharth Malhotra starrer BAAR BAAR DEKHO

Produced jointly by Karan Johar, Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, the movie is a love story spanning over 30 decades. The fresh pairing of Katrina and Sidharth is already creating buzz, and the makers are quite confident that it will perform well.

Being a Karan Johar film the movie is expected to have good songs. Think of his previous films like Student of The Year, Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania and others – they all had good music in them. KALA CHASHMA is the first song from the film and so far, it already has over 19 million views on YouTube.

Here’s the song:

Just like any other music lover I too plugged in my earphones and played the song, but to my disappointment it wasn’t that good and great. Read on to know why I didn’t like the song.

NOT ORIGINAL:

The song is not original. It’s a reworked version of an old hit. The original was such a hit that it is played even today at weddings. This Kala Chashma isn’t that bad but also not something that make me play it on repeat. It probably will sound better if remixed.

KATRINA KAIF & SIDHARTH MALHOTRA MAKE A THANDA COUPLE:

The highlight of the film is (supposed to be) the fresh pairing of Katrina Kaif and Sidharth Malhotra. But sorry, they lack chemistry!! Sidharth stumbles in front of Katrina and shows no expressions.

SIDHARTH MALHOTRA CAN’T DANCE OR GIVE EXPRESSIONS:

Sidharth Malhotra taught us in his very first film that he can’t dance. The actor can’t keep up with Katrina and fails miserably. He has some lines in the song but fails in dance moves and expressions.

NO NEED FOR RAPPING:

Why is rapping included in every Bollywood song now? It is so irritating and unneeded. Rapper Badshaah only tanks the song. Adding a few lines of rap into an old hit doesn’t make it cool.

The song isn’t exciting to me. Sorry Katrina, but your sex appeal do nothing for my ears.
