The reason celebrity couples break up, split up or get divorced

Celebrity couples breaking up or getting a divorce has become so common nowadays. The idea of ‘happily ever after’ is doomed and the concept of fairytale romances is no more alive.

2015 was an year of heartbreaks and splits. Some of our favourite A-list couples called it quits making us believe more that you simply cannot live with one person forever. It just doesn’t happen. You get bored of those same curves and edges, or can’t tolerate them or some of their habits anymore or you simply grow apart or want to dig the dating scene again before you get old and fragile.

Hollywood couple Ben Affleck & Jennifer Garner called it quits after ten long years. Another long lasting couple Gwen Stefani and Gavin Rossdale split up after many years and three sons together. It isn’t just Hollywood that’s facing the enormous number of breakups and divorces but the split fever has caught Bollywood too. After Hrithik Roshan & Sussanne Khan, now Ranbir Kapoor & Katrina Kaif and Farhan Akhtar & Adhuna Akhtar have split too.

But what triggers a breakup especially in celebrities’ lives? Why isn’t it so rosy and sugar sweet for them? Because firstly, they spend months away from each other. Farhan Akhtar was shooting for Dil Dhadakne Do, Wazir and Rock On 2 back to back which hardly left him any time for his family. Same for Ben Affleck who was too busy with scripts and working on Batman that he had no time left to give to his wife or kids. Even when he was home, he wasn’t. He was glued on his work desk.

Second reason- the infedelity. Celebrities spend months away from each other in the company of an attractive opposite gender. Three months without sex, who survives? Moreover these celebrities on movie sets have to do intimate scenes and rub their chests and butts together. They do it for money they do if for pleasure too. This is the reason the third party is usually accused for a breakup or divorce.

Take the example of Ranbir Kapoor and Katrina Kaif who split just weeks ago. Ranbir’s tamasha with his ex-flame is touted to be one of the biggest reasons. Farhan Akhtar is also accused of getting closer with one of his co-stars and baffling his partner of many years. A couple of years ago Hrithik Roshan was accused of cheating on his wife with his Kites costar Barbara Mori.

So yes, the third party or third person does shake a relationship.

Third – being commitment phobic. Certain people have commitment issues but some people want commitments. Katrina Kaif had been dreaming of becoming the Kapoor bahu for a long time but Ranbir never proposed to her during their six year affair. He has himself said in the past he is commitment phobic.

Priyanka Chopra didn’t say yes to her ex Shahid Kapoor because she wanted to concentrate on her career and well, that decision actually paid off for her.

The fourth reason that can cause havoc in a relationship could be the financial factor. Celebrities are used to living the great lifestyle and marrying a so-so person is out of their life. Shilpa Shetty home-wrecked and married Raj Kundra and is now the richest Bollywood celebrity woman. Relationships breakup and makeup because of money and power too.

Age is another factor. Older men like to bed and marry younger girls. Bradley Cooper dated Suki Waterhouse, 17-years his junior. Leonardo DiCaprio dates girls who are in their early 20s. Shahid Kapoor married 21-year- old Mira Rajput last year. These men could have easily found women their age but young girls are more attractive and ‘less used’, you know?

Relationships today have become more a symbol of flaunting and posing. People want to possess a good-looking partner and flaunt them here and there. They don’t want to be married or linked to anyone with sagging breasts or impotent d, neither to an ordinary earning employee of a regional company nor to a fairly unhandsome person. But we mustn’t even defame them for this for they aren’t imposing any of it on us. Neither is a breakup so easy. They’re simply living their lives but in public galore and man, that’s a torture.
