2015 was an year of hits and flops. Where films like Bajrangi Bhaijaan and Bahubali earned more than ₹600 crore collection other films that were expected to be hits flopped terribly and how! Below are ten films that were the biggest surprise flops of the year.

  • Tevar

IMDb rating : 4.1/10

Arjun Kapoor is a young icon. Sonakshi Sinha has had a lot of hits, so it was surprising this film didn’t do well.

  • Katti Batti

IMDb rating : 4.6/10

Actress Kangana Ranaut had been riding high after the success of her last few films and same was expected this time around until Imran Khan jumped in it as its lead actor. Since his acting debut in 2008 Khan hasn’t had a good professional front and aidiences and critics have long written him off. Katti Batti was highly publicised but proved to be a total flop upon its release.

The conclusion of the film is: Imran Khan should stop acting and Kangana Ranaut should focus on solo films or never work with flop actors.

  • Roy

IMDb rating : 3.2/10

Ranbir Kapoor had three films for release this year and two flopped too miserably. The film also starred Arjun Rampal and Jacqueline Fernandez who did nothing to save the film.

  • Hero

IMDb rating : 3.6/10

Salman Khan tried to launch two star kids with this 1983 Hero remake – Sooraj Pancholi (the son of actor Aditya Pancholi and the boyfriend of deceased actress Jiah Khan) and Athiya Shetty (the daughter of actor Sunil Shetty)  but in vain. The film failed to appeal the masses and critics. Glamsham gave it a zero rating and criticised the lead actors’ acting skills.

Pancholi is not a heartthrob and can only flaunt chiselled abs and tattoos while Athiya can’t act! Athiya doesn’t have a face and lips for acting and must stay away from this field if she doesn’t want to read ugly insults about her on the net each morning.

  • Phantom

IMDb rating : 5.4/10

The film is directed by the same man (Kabir Khan) who directed Bajrangi Bhaijaan, one of the highest grossing films of Indian cinema. The film had star power – Saif Ali Khan and Katrina Kaif – but failed to create much buzz.

  • Shaandaar

IMDb rating : 3.6/10

Directed by Vikas Behl who gave the critically acclaimed movie Queen a lot was expected from him. The film was much publicised and had an ensemble cast including Shahid Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Pankaj Kapur and Sushma Seth. It was also the debut film of Shahid’s sister and Pankaj Kapur’s daughter Sanah but the film bombed at the box office.

  • Bombay Velvet

IMDb rating : 5.8/10

Starring Ranbir Kapoor, Anushka Sharma and Karan Johar the film was set in 1960s Bombay. This was one of the most anticipated films of 2015 but failed to surprise the audience.

  • Humari Adhuri Kahani

Vidya Balan is powerhouse of talent and a lot is expected from her films but this film was an ’empty’ film with no good storyline and turned out to be a total disaster.

  • All Is Well

IMDb rating : 3.8/10

Abhishek Bachchan can’t act! Asin was completely wasted in it.

  • Calendar Girls

IMDb rating : 3.9/10

This is directed by Madhur Bhandarkar who directed Fashion but unlike Fashion that earned itself National Awards, this film couldn’t keep the excitement amongst the masses.
